Who Are we?
We are a collective team of individuals from varying backgrounds, expertise and motivations. Our experiences range from ecology studies, marine behavior, policy and advocacy to public speaking, marketing, journalism, TV & film and boat engineering. Despite our various backgrounds, knowledge and expertise we all have one mutual goal to improving and understanding protection for marine life along the Pembrokeshire coast.

Jacki Sime
Jacki Sime is a pioneering research scientist (MSc Marine Environmental Protection), conservation photographer, filmmaker and author. She has worked on international wildlife documentaries for the BBC Natural History Unit and major conservation organisations, bringing global expertise to local action. Growing up by the sea fuelled her passion for marine protection—especially Pembrokeshire’s iconic grey seals. Jacki launched the first grey seal rescue and rehabilitation work on the St Davids peninsula, later becoming the RSPCA’s designated grey seal rescue officer. Now developing her original seal behaviour research into a PhD with Durham University, she founded the Pembrokeshire Seal Research Trust in 2023 to drive cutting-edge research, raise awareness, and protect seal habitats for the future.
